Mick Martin – Guitar & Vocals

Guitar & Vocals for The Smokin' Crawdads Mick Martin

The only member of the original Crawdad line up, Mick’s career has spanned more than three decades & a multitude of musical styles. An award winning guitarist whose past band efforts include mid 80’s Pop/Rock act Idol Minds, The Country Boys & The Blue Heeler Band, as well as years of supporting/backing international stars including Nick Lowe, Joe Walsh (from the Eagles) Johnny Tillotson & local heroes such as Col Elliot, Jackie Love, Adam Harvey, Lee & Tania Kernaghan, Peter Cupples, Little Pattie, Normie Rowe, Barry Crocker, Judie Stone, Paul Martell, Jane Scali, The Drifters, Ian Turpie, Bev Harrell & Slim Dusty just to name a few. Better known to the rest of the band as “Captain Craw”, Mick thrives on playing with great musicians & loves this line up. “We’re keeping it great without sacrificing the fun aspect of the live performances”.

Greg Lyon – Bass & Vocals

Bass & Vocals for The Smokin Crawdads Andy Tainsh

Greg Lyon is one of Australia’s finest electric bassists & musicians. In a professional career spanning more than 30 years he has performed & recorded with the best of the best. Originally from Melbourne Greg has worked in Asia, Europe & the USA. For 10 years Greg was one of Sydney’s “first call” bassists for recording sessions & the odd television performance. He has recorded albums & toured with Australia’s best including Richard Clapton, Renee Geyer, John Farnham, Glen Shorrock, Brian Cadd, Doug Parkinson, Doug Ashdown, Kevin Johnson, Mike McClellan, Crossfire with Jim Kelly, Marc Hunter, Tommy Emmanuel, Graeme Connors, Jojo Smith, David Bentley & Ricky May.

International artists include Olivia Newton-John, Georgie Fame, Maria Muldaur, Elvin Bishop, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Earl King, Jimmy Witherspoon, Jon Cleary, Randy Brecker, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins & John Denver.

Doug Gallacher – Drums & Percussion

Drums & Percussion for The Smokin' Crawdads Doug Gallacher

Doug Gallacher was born and bred in Dubbo NSW. Doug moved to Sydney in his early twenty’s to pursue his passion for percussion, he joined various cover bands and soon found himself a highly sought after session musician. To date Doug has worked on over 300 albums and associated projects including countless commercials, movie soundtracks and TV themes.

His dedication and immense talent caught the attention of Jeff Harvey who instantly placed Doug behind the drum kit on the Midday Show on Channel 9. Doug remained with the Jeff Harvey Band for over twenty years. In that time he also performed in The Carols in the Domain (15years), NSW School Spectacular (22years), the Golden Guitar Awards, the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games, the Opening of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre & Bi-Centennial concert. Doug has been involved with many Theatre Productions including Hello Dolly, Menopause the Musical, Respect the Musical, Aladdin, Cinderella & They’re Playing Our Song.

During this time Doug also travelled extensively throughout Australia and overseas with various touring acts including Adam Harvey, Adam Brand, Albert Lee / Vince Gill, Alan Caswell, B. B. King, Crossfire, David Helfgott, Drifters, Don Burrows, Don Spencer (Play School ), Dusty Springfield, Felicity Urquhart, Feral Swing Katz, The Four Tops, Graeme Connors, Garth Brooks, Gene Pitney, Glen Frey (The Eagles ), Gina Jefferies, James Blundell, James Morrison, John Denver, John Farnham, John Williamson, Judith Durham and The Seekers, Julie Anthony, Michael Crawford, Neil Sedaka, Olivia Newton John, Peter Allen ( 15 years ), Peggy Lee, Randy Brecker, Randy Crawford, Reg Lindsay, Ricky May, Rick Price, Rhonda Birchmore, Shirley McLaine, Cliff Richard, Slim Dusty ( 20 Albums ), Supremes, Temptations, Tom Jones, The Wiggles, Tiny Tim, Trisha Yearwood, Tommy Emmanuel, The Monkees, & Troy Cassar Daley.

Doug moved from Sydney to Brisbane in January 2006 to enjoy a quieter life however this was short lived as he was quickly recognized by Mick Martin and now regularly gigs with The Smokin’ Crawdads in and around South East & Central Queensland.

Brendan Radford – Guitar, Blues Harp & Vocals

Guitar & Vocals for The Smokin Crawdads Glen Moffatt

The latest edition to the Smokin’ Crawdads line up, Brendan Radford is a gifted vocalist/guitarist who has performed and/or recorded with many leading Australian and international artists. This three time Australian national bluegrass champion was part of Lee Kernaghan’s touring band for over ten years and has also been in the Australian Country Music Awards house band for the past six years. Prior to and also during this period he has performed and/or recorded with other luminary Australian and International artists including Pam Tillis, Gina Jeffreys, Troy Cassar-Daly, Becky Cole, Adam Harvey, Sara Storer, Glen Shorrock, Guy Sebastian, Russell Morris and many others.

Brendan was also in “The Man from Snowy River” arena spectacular in 2002 with Georgie Parker & Bud Tingwell. His current album “Snow” has had three top ten singles in the 98.9fm top 20 Australian Countdown.
